About us

In Hungary almost all of the worlds’s well-known and less-known brands are present.

It is well known, that the introduction of a brand name to a market involves significant costs. The owners of brands are investing and have been investing millions of dollars, euros and forints to make the customers choose their products.

Unfortunately, many manufacturers and distributors are trying to achieve unfair advantages by circumventing laws, copying or exploiting brandnames or other intellectual creations of others without consent. These activities cause significant material and moral damage to the rightful owners. These distributors of counterfeit products commonly do neither issue taxable bills, nor do they register their employees, and are therefore causing damages to the national economies as well. A notable portion of the counterfeit products (e.g.: cosmetic products, food or drink counterfeits) are also harmful to the health of consumers.

The legal system provides the instruments of trademark protection, copyright law and the laws of competition to protect intellectual creations and specific words, logos and characters of the rightowners.

Our Foundation was established in 2001 to promote the effective validation of these rights. Our aim is to help the work of the authorities, and to safeguard the interests of the rightowners, to impart the State surplus proceeds, to roll back the black market and to protect the costumers from the jeopardy by counterfeit products.

The Hungarian Foundation for Trademark and Copyright Protection is the Hungarian partner of SNB-REACT.
